WooHoo it’s Men’s Fashion Week in London again, and as it’s the Spring/ Summer Collection, there should be a lot more skin on show. They should be topless, right? Men need things like shorts for the beach and flip flops, flip flops are very important!
This isn’t just a chance for me to stare at pictures of David Gandy, though that is fun. It’s a chance to admire where Men’s wear has grown into its own. I’m still surprised that there are still some men that have no idea what suits then, that depend on the wives, girlfriends or mothers to dress their men to their tastes.
While working for a men’s brand, the amount of times I would see men would come in with their girlfriends and all I would hear was the girlfriend saying “no and I don’t like that” or worse, they just pull the face of “hell no”. In the five years that I worked for that company, I have only heard of one man, brave enough to ignore the face of ‘hell no’ and said, “well I like it” and then went to buy it, that was beyond unheard of on that department. I will be honest and admit that after a while I would just ignore the men and would befriend the girlfriends and just went along with their sometimes boring tastes. It would just save time.
What’s wrong with Men wearing colours, not navy blue or black, bold and bright colours? A bit of tailoring wouldn’t hurt, it really makes a difference. Consider a Man Bag, there is hype behind Handbags for a reason. My only advice, don’t wear a vest with a hairy back and arms, I had to witness that the other day, it wasn’t a pretty sight.
Here are my picks for the London Collection Men Spring/Summer 2014 . . . and a random picture of David Gandy, just for the hell of it, you’re welcome.
